I am not a fan of matcha-anything but I love Tsujiri’s matcha parfaits. Their matcha ice cream is smooth and creamy, with a touch of bitterness. I have always been satisfying my Tsujiri matcha parfait craving at the 100AM outlet at Tanjong Pagar.
During our stay in Kyoto this time, I made it a point to visit Tsujiri Honten which is conveniently located at Gion. I had my usual Tsujiri order that is a matcha parfait that comes with shiratama dango and azuki. I am glad to report that the matcha ice-cream sold here is as good as the one in Kyoto. At least, I could not tell any visible difference between the two in terms of taste and texture.
Isn’t it typical of Japanese thoughtfulness to provide an ice-cream cone stand for dine-in customers?

There are many different Tsujiris in Japan so it can get confusing, but as far as I can tell from the logo in your photo, this Tsujiri is neither the one at your listed address (http://www.giontsujiri.co.jp/saryo/store/kyoto_gion/) nor the one in Singapore (http://tsujiri-global.com/).
The Tsujiri found in Singapore has all of 3 Japanese branches in Kitakyushu.
The Tsujiri you were at is likely within walking distance from the one you intended to go to. I suppose you landed at the wrong place but just FYI because it’s so misleading. xD I realised this after cross-referencing with another blog that featured 2 Tsujiris (http://whereisfatboy.blogspot.sg/2015/04/kyoto-tsujiri-honten-gion.html).
Glad you enjoyed the matcha though~
Hello Janice
Thanks for pointing this out. I didn’t realize that the Tsujiri in Singapore is not from the Kyoto ones! I went to the Tsujiri Honten shop along Gion and they showed me to the shop next door when I said I wanted ice-cream, that’s how I thought they were one and the same.
